Welcome to Community Christian Church!
We are so glad you decided to check out our website!
How do I get there?
CCC is located at 253 NE 30 Rd in Great Bend, KS. We’re right next door to Barton Community College.
When do you meet?
Our worship service is Sunday morning at 10am. There are also groups and Bible studies that meet throughout the week.
Where do I enter the building?
Our front door is at the back of the building. I know…we think it’s kinda weird, too.
Is there anything for my kids?
Yes! We have nursery care during the worship service for little ones up to preschool.
We also have Children's Church for kids in grades K-6. Kids will start out in the auditorium for our worship service, then right before the sermon, their teacher will lead them upstairs for a lesson and activities aimed at their age.
On holidays (Easter & Christmas), 5th Sundays, and other special occasions, the kids stay through the whole service.
What’s the worship service like?
Our worship services usually last about an hour and a half.
Each week, we:
- Sing a few songs of worship to God. The songs you’ll hear our band play are mostly new, contemporary songs, with some timeless hymns thrown into the mix, as well.
- Take Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist). This is a time to reflect and remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross. Communion is open to all believers.
- Take up an offering. This is our opportunity to give back some of what God has given to us. The money collected in the offering goes to fund the ministry and programs of CCC as well as giving support to missions around the world. We don’t set or suggest amounts or percentages to give. That’s something we believe you should work out with God.
- You’ll hear a message from God’s Word. Jon, our Senior Minister, tries to present the truths of the Bible in a way that is understandable and gives opportunity to apply those truths to our own lives.
- Pray. Prayer is one of the greatest ways we connect with God. One of the special things we do is have an “open mic” time to give everyone a chance to bring up concerns they’d like everyone else to pray about, or things to praise God for. Then we’ll spend time being led in prayer for those requests.
What should I wear?
Come in what you’re comfortable wearing. We don’t put any importance on what a person wears at CCC, so you’ll find people wearing everything from shorts and t-shirts to suit coats and slacks.
